Kenyan media personality Oga Obinna has put on hold all his personal, direct assistance to needy people, following what he calls continuous defamation and online manipulation by social media fans and bloggers.

The TV host and comedian announced the news in an official statement issued through Obinna TV Studios that his kindness has been turned against him for attention and engagement, as some individuals manipulated his good deeds to do evil.
“How what began as genuine efforts to assist those in need were met with false reports, malicious trolling, and venomous ingratitude deployed to destroy rather than to enjoy,” part of the statement stated.

Key Clarifications

Obinna emphasized that while he has always tried to do well, he is not obligated to help everyone, nor is he responsible for other people’s fates.

“Oga Obinna is NOT God, capable of helping everyone,” the announcement stated, and that he would no longer tolerate manipulation, blackmail, or public pressures to provide assistance.

What Will Continue

Despite the suspension, Obinna TV Studios’ CSR activities and the Obinna TV Foundation will still exist as structured platforms for philanthropic endeavors. His business operations and professional work also do not change.

Legal Warning

The TV host also served a stern legal warning to bloggers and web content producers who have been spreading false or defamatory information, threatening to seek responsibility to the “fullest extent of the law.”

A Shift Toward Boundaries

This gesture is a radical departure for Obinna, who has been well-known for his generosity and public support of embattled fans. His gesture speaks volumes about boundaries within the social media universe.

The announcement was concluded with a Bible quote Mark 9:43 symbolizing the tough but necessary action to “cut off” behaviors that harm or lead to unnecessary controversy.
