Nyandarua​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ County has upgraded its fire and rescue department after a new fire engine equipped with the latest gadgets was handed over to Mairo Inya Municipality that will serve the area and the neighboring communities of Ndaragwa Sub-County.

The fire engine was handed over officially in a ceremony that was attended by county leadership and local residents. Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha said in his speech that the new addition extends the county’s fleet of fire engines therefore, it will be very easy to respond to fire outbreaks and other emergencies.

Governor Badilisha pointed out that the county government is still very much committed to investing in disaster preparedness as a way of ensuring the safety of lives, property, and vital infrastructure. He guaranteed the locals that the new fire engine is fully equipped and it will be the first to be deployed if the need arises.

Local people euphorically reacted to the news, saying that it will cut down on response time and increase safety in the rapidly growing municipality and areas around it that had to wait for long hours for help from far-off places.
