Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Tuesday morning, December 9, received the Certificate of Full Registration for his newly-formed National Economic Development Party (NEDP), marking a major milestone in his bid to re-establish himself in Kenya’s political landscape.

The certificate was issued at the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in Nairobi, where Sonko—accompanied by senior party officials—arrived at Lion Place to officially receive the document.

This followed confirmation that NEDP had fulfilled all the legal requirements for full registration under the Political Parties Act.

Documents submitted to ORPP show that the party has constituted an interim National Executive Council (NEC), comprising positions such as Party Leader, Secretary General, National Chairperson, National Treasurer, and Organizing Secretary, among others.
