The Hustler Fund, a key initiative of the Kenya Kwanza government, has achieved significant progress, according to President William Ruto.
Ruto highlighted that the fund now serves 8.5 million repeat borrowers, with an impressive repayment rate of 79 percent.
To date, it has disbursed Sh60 billion, benefiting 24.6 million Kenyans, while also mobilizing Sh3.3 billion in savings.
Encouraged by these successes, the government is set to introduce a new product focused on supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The initiative will initially target two million SME owners who have built a strong credit history with the Fund.
“To mark the Fund’s second anniversary, we are launching a third product tailored specifically for SMEs,” Ruto announced.

Adding; “This initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs transition into the formal banking system, enhance financial inclusion, and strengthen the SME sector.”
The president emphasized that this milestone reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to fostering a financially inclusive and economically resilient nation.
