The eagerly awaited clash between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia FC has been postponed to a later date.
Mashemeji derby which was scheduled for this Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi as part of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League, will no longer take place as planned.
AFC Leopards confirmed the postponement in a statement issued on Thursday, stating that the new date for the match would be announced in due course.
“We regret to inform you that the FKF PL match – AFC Leopards SC vs Gor Mahia FC – #MashemejiDerby, initially scheduled for Sunday, 24th November 2024, at 4:00 PM at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi, has been postponed to a later date,” the statement read.
The postponement comes as a result of Nyayo National Stadium’s unavailability, as it is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for the upcoming 2024 CHAN competition.
