New Dawn of Affordable Universal Health Coverage As Kenya transitions to SHA

A new Era to Kenya as it takes a step towards universal health coverage with the official rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA), ensuring that Kenyans have access to affordable healthcare.

The SHA promises to deliver healthcare without financial constraints, marking a key milestone in the country’s health sector.

According to Elijah Wachira, the acting CEO of SHA, there will be comprehensive healthcare services available in both public and private facilities. Patients at Levels 1, 2, and 3 will receive free medication, and for those unable to afford the monthly subscription, the government will step in to ensure no one is left behind.

Kenyans can access registrations online by dialing*147# or one can visit their nearest SHA Help desk. The transition to SHA services is expected to be smooth, ensuring no disruption in healthcare access.

With SHA, Kenya is on the path to achieving universal health coverage. Let’s secure our health future together! #SHAForUHC #BimaBora #AfyaNyumbani
