Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a suspect who fell from the sixth floor of an apartment during an arrest in the Kware area of the Mkuru slums on Tuesday morning, October 1.
The incident occurred when police attempted to apprehend a man named Peter Isaack for alleged assault and malicious damage to property.
According to police reports, while being escorted to the station, Isaack jumped from the sixth floor of the building and landed on the ground floor, resulting in his immediate death.
However, several residents disputed the police’s account, claiming that the man fell during a struggle with the arresting officers.
This discrepancy has led police authorities to dispatch a separate team to investigate the incident further.
The body has been transported to the City Mortuary for an autopsy and additional investigations. Authorities are exploring the possibility of murder or suicide in their inquiry into the tragic event
