The National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) has launched the second International Police Association (IPA) International Investigations Seminar to strengthen cross-border cooperation and improve investigative skills among law enforcement professionals.

The seven-day seminar, running from November 1 to 7, 2026, at the Academy, brings together investigators, security experts and international delegates under the theme of advancing professional, ethical, and technology-driven policing.

The event was officially opened by National Police Service spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga, who represented Inspector-General of Police. He said modern policing requires investigators with professional integrity, technological skills and international cooperation to address emerging criminal threats.

IPA Kenya Section President Jared Ojuok called for stronger partnerships between public institutions, private companies and international policing networks to combat increasingly complex crimes.

Participants include representatives from Strathmore University, KCB Bank, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Kenya Revenue Authority and Nairobi County Government, alongside delegates from Nigeria, Japan, the United States and Sri Lanka.

Sessions will cover financial cybercrime, digital fraud, ransomware, cryptocurrency investigations, human trafficking, child protection, asset tracing and forensic evidence management.

Organised by IPA Kenya Section in collaboration with NCIA, the seminar seeks to strengthen investigative capacity through knowledge-sharing and international partnerships, supporting the development of a professional and technology-driven criminal investigation service.
