Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku, has reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery, with a special emphasis on marginalized and underserved regions.

Speaking during a public address at Kanyuambora in Embu County, CS Ruku highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing nationwide initiative aimed at collecting citizen feedback and evaluating the effectiveness of government service structures.

He emphasized that this grassroots engagement is key to ensuring that public services are responsive, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of all Kenyans.“We are actively listening to wananchi across the country to better understand their needs and to ensure that public service delivery is not only efficient but also equitable,” said Ruku.

In addition, the CS assured residents that his Ministry is working collaboratively with other government agencies to implement proactive disaster preparedness and mitigation strategies.

These efforts are particularly focused on arid and semi-arid areas that are highly vulnerable to droughts, flash floods, and recurring food shortages.“Our goal is to build resilience in these communities and prevent crises before they occur through coordinated planning and timely interventions,” he noted.

The CS’s visit to Embu County is part of a broader national outreach programme designed to bridge service delivery gaps and ensure that no region is left behind in Kenya’s development agenda.
