A section of Kenya Kwanza allied leaders now want Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale to be ousted as Senate Majority Whip and expelled from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party over what they deem disloyalty.
Led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, they accused Khalwale of defying party regulations and speaking negatively about the government that has granted him the plum Senate position.
Speaking on Sunday at Tumbeni Africa Nineveh Church during a church service, the leaders said Khalwale should have supported UDA candidate David Ndakwa instead of his competitor, Seth Panyako of DAP-K, in the upcoming Malava by-election.
According to Musalia, Khalwale has been disrespectful to President Ruto and has been colluding with the opposition to undermine the government.
"Khalwale must be expelled from the UDA party because he is not loyal; he is not trusted at all. He is walking around tarnishing my name, yet I am his principal. As the Luhya kingpin, I want him to apologise or be fired from the positions he holds in the party," said Mudavadi.
Musalia called upon UDA leadership to expedite removing Khalwale from house leadership; failure to which he will cause immense damage in the party.
