A suspected drug trafficker is in custody following a successful police operation in Umoja 1 Market, Nairobi, that uncovered a significant stash of cannabis.
The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the arrest, noting that the operation was the result of detailed intelligence work carried out by officers in the Nairobi Region.
The raid led to the recovery of approximately 20 kilograms of raw cannabis, along with 3,000 pre-rolled joints and 33 packaged bundles of the drug.
All seized items have been documented and secured as evidence.
“This operation reflects the National Police Service’s continued commitment to disrupting drug supply chains and curbing substance abuse in Nairobi and beyond,” the NPS stated.
The suspect remains in custody and is expected to face charges in court.
Authorities also commended the officers involved for their vigilance and professionalism in tackling narcotics and the broader illicit drug trade.
