Kenyan media personality Mumbi Maina has responded boldly to recent online criticism after parting ways with musician Otile Brown. In a strongly worded Instagram post, Mumbi addressed rumors questioning her professional role and value, particularly claims suggesting she is “jobless.”
“Feeling jobless with Riggy G and 1 million others ama in how many Kenyans are jobless?” she wrote sarcastically, making light of the speculation. Mumbi went on to assert that she is not one to be intimidated or silenced, stating, “The only person I’m scared of is GOD.”
She clarified that her silence has been by choice and not weakness. “I am quiet by choice and not by meekness. If I ever need to speak up for myself, I will and I’ll come correct with receipts.”
Mumbi reminded critics that they don’t know her story. “You haven’t been in my shoes… it’s a free world, you’re allowed to have your own opinion,” she said. Declaring herself a “high value woman,” she emphasized her principles and refusal to compromise on her values.
She also attacked double standards in society, particularly against women. “There’s no form of bullying that will ever reach me. Particularly not from internet idlers and a society addicted to humiliating women,” she continued.
