Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his continued attacks on the government, urging Kenyans to disregard his remarks.
Speaking during a public engagement, Mudavadi affirmed that the government is committed to delivering on its development agenda and would not be distracted by Gachagua’s rhetoric.
“We do not want to be misled by someone who is roaming yet can no longer occupy any public office in the country,” Mudavadi stated, referring to Gachagua’s impeachment in October last year, which bars him from holding any public office or vying for elective seats.
Mudavadi encouraged Kenyans to remain focused on the government’s priorities. “Kenya is not there to listen to you mourning every other day. We must move forward and develop the country, and that is where President William Ruto is taking us.”

The Prime Cabinet Secretary further dismissed Gachagua’s continued criticism, stating that the “mourning period” was over and urging him to accept the political reality.
Meanwhile, Gachagua, who has positioned himself as a key opposition figure, is reportedly planning to unveil a new political party. His allies have hinted that the new political vehicle will reshape Kenya’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The People’s Deputy President will soon, in the next few weeks, launch the party that will shake the country’s political landscape,” said Embakasi North MP James Gakuya.
During a church service in Laikipia County on Sunday, Gachagua confirmed that he is finalizing consultations and will announce his political party next month through a live television interview.
“In two weeks, I will give you direction… Currently, I am still consulting, but early next month, I will make a pronouncement,” Gachagua said.
