Gospel artist Mr. Seed from Kenya has left his fans in tears after he shared an emotional post praising the late Betty Bayo, his close friend, mentor, and collaborator, on what Bayo would have celebrated as a birthday. Taking to his Instagram account, the singer passionately remembered how Bayo had changed his life in the early days of his music.
“Happy birthday to you, Bayo… my 1st and last Groove Awards I got through you. You were a blessing to me… today you celebrate your birthday with angels,” Mr Seed wrote and attached an old photo of the two on stage. The touching message immediately stirred memories among fans who remembered Bayo’s vibrant personality and her influence in the industry.
Betty Bayo, who died several years ago, was not only able to spot talent, but also work on uplifting young creatives. Mr Seed explained that she believed in him long before fame, even when he was in high school. “You gave me a chance to work with you… imekuwa hard kwangu kuamini hii bitter reality. I celebrate you today. Happy birthday in heaven,” he added.
Similarly, close friends showed the same feelings, describing Bayo as a talented soul with many hats: mentor, big sister, creative powerhouse, and interestingly, a low-key comedian. “You blessed so many people with your talent, but you blessed me a lot by being my friend and big sister… I will miss you forever,” one tribute read.
