County governments will get Sh415 billion in equitable share in the next financial year.

This is an increase of Sh28b from the current years allocation of Sh387 billion.

This comes after a mediation committee of composed of members from the two houses strike a deal after four days of intense negotiations.

The senators demanded Sh465 billion allocation to the devolved units with their national Assembly counterparts pushing for Sh405 billion.

However, after the talks, the parties settled on Sh415 billion.

Aldai MP Merryane Keitany proposed the figure of Sh415 billion with Mombasa senator Mohamed Faki seconding.

The other members unanimously endorsed the proposal.
