KMTC Streamlines Release of Transcripts to Facilitate Graduates Secure Jobs

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has stepped up the release of academic transcripts in a move aimed at facilitating its graduates secure job opportunities within and beyond Kenya.

On September 17, 2025, the college released 13,000 transcripts to its campuses across the country for students who sat their final qualifying exams in June and July.

For years, graduates had complained about taking months to receive the crucial documents, often a requirement for work or further studies. To address this, KMTC has been decentralizing services and digitizing documents.

“Graduates were missing opportunities due to delays. That is what we are correcting,” said KMTC chief executive Dr. Kelly Oluoch.

He added that with the new system, students can confirm their transcripts on line and collect them from their campuses of choice within three weeks after writing exams.

The college has also ramped up its Transcript Mashinani initiative, which takes services closer to communities during national events, allowing graduates to collect their transcripts on the spot.

Transcripts now take one day to complete once requirements are met, and not more than 10 days, under its Citizens’ Service Delivery Charter, states KMTC.

“These reforms are making our graduates competitive in the job market,” said Dr. Oluoch.
