Defence PS Soipan Tuya has restated the government’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s creative sectors, a move that will be a major driver of innovation, created jobs, opportunities for young Kenyans.
Speaking during a networking and empowerment programme for young musicians and artists from Ilchamus Ward in Baringo South Constituency, Baringo County,Tuya said investmenting in talent through government, society and the community sectors, as well as the private sector, is crucial for preserving Kenya’s cultural heritage, and fostering sustainable livelihoods through the arts.
She urged the young creatives to sharpen their skills, maintain professionalism, practice discipline, and stay loyal to their craft. Tuya stated that an artist’s spirit and perseverance would empower her to be her own business, creating job posts as well as playing a big role in national progress.
“With determination and resilience, they have the potential to build successful enterprises, create employment, and make a meaningful contribution to our nation’s development.” she stated
Besides providing the necessary infrastructure, it remains the responsibility of the Kenya government to continue supporting the development of creative talent through the provision of resources and enterprise training.
The occasion was graced by some top leaders, Woman Member of the County Assembly, Baringo County, Florence Jematia, Baringo South Member of Parliament, Charles Kamuren, and various County Assembly Members as well as other local leaders who undertook to support youth empowerment activities in the county, if any.
