Siaya County leaders have pledged support to Eliud Owalo’s 2027 presidential campaign, arguing that his 10-point program is a very excellent economic plan specifically designed for the Nyanza region.
During a meeting held in Siaya, the leaders explained that Owalo’s program planted focus on increasing agricultural production, promoting value addition to local products, and improving regional connectivity as the avenues through which the whole Nyanza region will be economically transformed.
Among the major points of the program is the construction of Koru-Soin and Magwagwa dams. These multi, purpose facilities will largely help generate clean hydroelectric power, contribute to large, scale irrigation for food security, provide reliable household water supply, and offer effective flood control in vulnerable areas.
Delegates from professional bodies and women groups commended the program for addressing issues such as high taxation.
The endorsement coincides with Owalo, who was a Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and a former ICT Cabinet Secretary, stepping up his presidential campaign. He is focusing on putting the money directly in the hands of Kenyans through practical and region.
Fans called the agenda visionary and transformative, making Owalo the perfect leader to take Nyanza out of the developmental doldrums and at the same time contributing to national development.
