Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has declared an interest in the Gatundu South parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Taking to social media, Kuria, who had initially declared he would vie for the Nairobi governor seat, announced he had registered as an aspirant for the Gatundu South seat on the President William Ruto-led United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

It is worth noting that Kuria is the party leader of the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party and his UDA registration signals decamping from his own outfit.

He first went for the Gatundu South MP seat in 2014 in a by-election following the death of MP Jossy Ngugi.

He was re-elected in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket. In the 2022 General Election, Kuria unsuccessfully vied for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
