During the ceremony, Purity was given a symbolic title deed and was declared a Comfort Homes Ambassador, an action that not only restored dignity but purpose too. Wiping away tears, she thanked the company for having faith in her when the world had disappeared from her doorway.
”I thank God for using Comfort Homes to remind me that my story doesn’t end in shame. I am now an ambassador, and I want to inspire other women never to give up, no matter what challenges they face,” she explained with tears.
Just weeks before, Purity had been the subject of widespread mockery after her intimate videos were leaked on the internet. In an emotional public apology, she apologized to Kenyans and stated that she had been manipulated by a man who took advantage of her struggles.
“Najua niliwakosea nyinyi Wakenya tafadhali naomba msamaha. Kuna mwanaume alinidanganya kuwa atanisaidia, nikamtumia hizo videos na yeye akanitumia 20k. Baadaye alianza kunitishia akiniambia ‘usiponitumia 2k nitakuanika,'” she tearfully disclosed.
Purity continued to narrate that she had been fighting poverty, with an attempt to support seven children by herself and having a hard time paying school fees. The betrayal, according to her, made her broken and embarrassed.
