Kylian Mbappé struck twice as Real Madrid extended their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points with a commanding victory over Valencia at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The French forward opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute after César Tárraga handled Franco Mastantuono’s corner, before volleying in his second from close range following fine work by Jude Bellingham and Arda Güler just past the half-hour mark.
Vinícius Júnior then had a chance to add to the tally but saw his penalty — aimed straight down the middle — comfortably saved by Valencia goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala.
Moments later, Bellingham made amends by curling a superb effort into the bottom corner to give the hosts a 3–0 lead at the interval.
Álvaro Carreras put the result beyond doubt in the second half with a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner from a tight angle, sealing Real’s fourth consecutive league win.
Real Madrid.
The Brazilian winger started alongside Mbappé and Bellingham — both of whom also found the net in last weekend’s El Clásico triumph over Barcelona.
Earlier in the day, Villarreal climbed to second in the table following a 4–0 win over Rayo Vallecano, while third-placed Barcelona will look to cut the gap to five points when they face eighth-placed Elche on Sunday.
