Celebrated news anchor Mary Kilobi is overjoyed after welcoming her first child with her husband, COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli. The couple, who had been waiting for this moment for seven years, are now basking in the joy of parenthood with the arrival of their baby, AJ.

Mary, 40, had taken a break from social media during her pregnancy, choosing to embrace the journey privately. Now, she opens up about the experience, describing it as one filled with patience, faith, and unwavering hope.

“Every woman who desires to have a child and it’s in God’s plan for her wants to experience that joy,” she shared. “I have always been surrounded by my nieces and nephews, and now, having my own child is an indescribable blessing.”

For Mary, baby AJ’s birth is nothing short of a miracle. She emphasized that she conceived naturally, trusting in divine timing rather than medical procedures.

“I know people will have their opinions, but for me, this was God’s perfect plan. I have always loved children, and now, I finally have my own—my precious AJ.”

Speaking to women struggling with conception, Mary shared a message of encouragement, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:11-35, a tale of faith and divine intervention.

“That story strengthened my belief that God’s timing is always perfect. It took me seven years, but now my home is filled with joy. If it happened for me, it can happen for you too. Just hold on and trust the process.”

As Mary cherishes her time with baby AJ, her husband Francis Atwoli, currently in Geneva, is eagerly looking forward to his return home.

“Mzee is beyond excited,” she revealed. “He’s counting down the days and will be back on Tuesday to hold his son in his arms.”

Mary and Atwoli’s love story dates back to when she was just 21 and working at the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. Now in his 70s, Atwoli is already a father to other children, but this new addition marks a significant milestone for the couple.
