The Kenyan track is continuing to shine in Oregon, US, making the nation of Kenya proud, as the World Athletics U20 Champions are making headlines at the marathon in both middle and long-distance running.
Kenyan athlete Emmanuel Kiprono has secured gold medal in the men’s 3000m final, clocking in at 7:28.28 and setting a new championship record in the World Athletics U20 Championship in Oregon.
The race was more than just a win; it was a statement. Kiprono’s carried the essence of Kenyan athletics, determined and forging the spirit of champions.
Principal Secretary of State Department for Sports has congratulated Kiprono for making Kenya proud and raising the Kenyan flag high.
It was an honor to witness this record-breaking performance alongside other Kenyan’s fans and athletics officials who showed up to celebrate and cheer our athletes as they flew our flag high in the US.
At the same time, Antasha Cheptoo won bronze medal in women’s 3000m clocking in at 9:37.18 at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon.
Her journey to the final is nothing but short of phenomenal. Her race was a testament to grit and perseverance, proving that champions are not only defined by flawless victories but their ability to rise after setbacks.
She has shown determination and the desire for victory while building towards becoming World Champion. Both Kiprono and Cheptoo have inspired young athletes, enduring dominance in distance running.
