In a bold move to revolutionize Kenya’s healthcare system, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, recently unveiled a series of game-changing health initiatives in Kwale County.
Speaking at a pivotal meeting in Diani, Ms. Muthoni introduced projects under the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA), set to drive the country’s healthcare to new heights.
Among the standout initiatives is the Community Health Promoters (CHPs) programme, a grassroots effort to empower local health workers and build community resilience.
She also highlighted the Building Resilient and Responsive Health Systems Project, a strategy designed to boost Kenya’s health crisis response capabilities. Emphasizing the government’s dedication to sustainable change, Ms. Muthoni spoke on the Social Health Insurance Act of 2023,outlining a vision for a seamless policy transition that will ensure healthcare accessibility for every Kenyan.
Adding to the excitement, Ms. Muthoni introduced the National Equipment Service Programme, a bold initiative to modernize medical equipment in health facilities nationwide.
