President William Ruto has reaffirmed a close development partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB).

President Ruto highlighted the bank’s major input in sectors including energy, MSMEs, and infrastructure.

He noted the partnership’s broader development agenda for the advancement of key priority projects including Mwache Dam, the Olkaria geothermal expansion, and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.

“We are advancing key priority projects, Mwache Dam, the Olkaria geothermal expansion, and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, as part of our broader development agenda,” said President Ruto in a post on X.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Kenya–European Union Business Forum in Nairobi, President Ruto held discussions with EIB Vice President Thomas Östros.

President Ruto noted that Mr Östros reaffirmed the bank’s continued support to accelerate Kenya’s development agenda.

In addition, the Head of State pointed out that Kenya and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are deepening partnerships to enhance financial institutions.
