Lawyer Morara Kebaso has announced the end of his activism, where he has been traversing the country in his supposed demand for accountability from President William Ruto’s government.
To facilitate his travels, Morara has been fundraising from Kenyans. However, he recently faced accountability questions as Kenyans demanded to know how millions of shillings they had raised were used.
Seemingly unable to account for the money raised, some netizens accused Morara of being a con, taking advantage of unsuspecting Kenyans to enrich himself.
Consequently, in a statement on X on Saturday, Morara announced he would not continue with the advocacy, claiming it was soiling his reputation.
He offered to refund Kenyans who had sent him money.
"I cannot continue to dirtify my reputation and earn the tag of a conman or beggar. It is not worth it. I have a company to run and a family that loves me. For this reason, I would like to refund any Kenyan who has supported me and felt conned. Nataka tumalizane kwa uzuri niende nipumzike," said Morara.
