Ruben Amorim claimed his first Premier League win as Manchester United manager with a commanding 4-0 victory over Everton.
The Portuguese coach, who took over from the sacked Erik ten Hag in November, continued his unbeaten start, extending it to three matches.
Amorim’s tenure began with a 1-1 draw at Ipswich last Sunday, before he secured his first win with a 3-2 triumph over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
Despite the positive results, the 39-year-old has cautioned that Manchester United will need to endure a difficult period before they can realistically challenge for the Premier League title.
Sunday’s win against Everton marked the most promising performance of Amorim’s brief spell at the club, as United recovered from a slow start to dominate the struggling Toffees.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a deflected strike from the edge of the area, following a well-placed shot that ricocheted off Jarrad Branthwaite.
United doubled their lead just seven minutes later, with Amorim’s decision to start Joshua Zirkzee over Rasmus Højlund paying off.

Rashford sealed his brace just 20 seconds after the break, finishing off a precise pass from Diallo to make it 3-0, his seventh goal of the season.
Zirkzee added another in the 64th minute, taking advantage of poor Everton defending to score once more from Diallo’s assist, completing the rout.
