The final batch Kenyan athletes of Team Kenya arrived on Wednesday morning from the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
Their arrival was received with a series of jubilant receptions that celebrated their outstanding performance and exemplary representation on the global stage.
Mathew Kipsang, gold medalist in the men’s 5,000m is among the final batch of Kenyan athletes welcomed back together with, Stephen Ndangiri, silver medalist in the men’s 10,000m race walk and Wycliff Kinyamal, bronze medalist in the men’s 800m.
The trios are among the 12 Kenyan medalists who made Kenya proud at the Commonwealth Games. Their achievement reflects not only personal triumph but a determination that has defined Kenya’s sporting spirit.
The government of Kenya congratulated Team Kenya for their exceptional achievements, dedication, resilience and patriotism that have brought honor to the country. It has appealed to support the athletes as they continue to excel on the international stage.
Sports, Art and Social Development Fund (SASDF) Board Chair Hon. George Kithi, Director Public Communication Juney Karisa and representatives from the Ministry of Creative Economy, Youth Affairs and Sports warmly welcomed the athletes back at home.
