Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim, is reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Ait-Nouri in the upcoming transfer window.
The 22-year-old Algerian defender, whose contract runs until June 2026, is said to be high on Amorim’s list of targets as he seeks a new challenge.
Ait-Nouri’s potential availability has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Manchester United leading the charge.
The Red Devils have made strengthening their left wing-back position a priority for 2025, and Amorim is believed to view Ait-Nouri as a perfect fit for the role.
His attacking qualities are seen as a key asset, especially with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia dealing with ongoing injuries.
It is reported that United are prepared to offer Ait-Nouri a substantial pay rise, with his current weekly salary at Wolves sitting at £33,000.
Despite the interest from United, Wolves are expected to hold on to Ait-Nouri until at least the end of the season, as they face a battle to avoid relegation.
Gary O’Neil’s side are currently 17th in the Premier League standings after 12 matches.
