The Med-Or Italian Foundation Africa Office was officially launched in Nairobi, marking a milestone in Kenya–Italy cooperation in the Blue Economy.

The launch was attended by Italy’s Minister of University and Research, H.E. Anna Maria Bernini. Representing the Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, H.E. Hassan Ali Joho, was Principal Secretary for the State Department of the Blue Economy and Fisheries, PS Betsy Njagi.

PS Njagi emphasized that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and international cooperation aimed at benefiting communities and future generations.

“We also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance sustainable fisheries, renewable energy solutions for aquaculture, and research collaboration in the Blue Economy,’ she said on her x account .

During the ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to promote sustainable fisheries, implement renewable energy solutions for aquaculture, and strengthen research collaboration in the Blue Economy.
