The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games have broken records, with organisers confirming more than 6 million tickets have been sold to the public.

With a total of 10.5 million tickets planned, this figure represents an over half of the available inventory, stating that the next chance for the general public to buy is in 2027.

The LA28 committee revealed that the sales will run on a first-come, first served basis, subject to available inventory, with the date yet to be announced as the limits come off.

More than 700,000 of the $28 tickets, were part of the special initiative to make the Games accessible, were almost snapped up immediately.

Organizers are still finalizing seating layouts for venues such as Crypto.com Arena, which will host artistic gymnastics.

LA28 officials emphasized that tickets sales are being managed conservatively to avoid overselling, with buyers needing an LA28 ID but not having to register for a draw.

The announcement places LA28 in line with recent Olympic tickets, as Paris 2024 sold 9.5 million tickets, making it one of the most attended Games in history.

They said next year tickets will be verified on channels such as LA28’s Official Secondary Ticket Marketplace, AXS and Eventim, along with LA28’s Verified Resale Platforms.

This is the third time Los Angeles will host the Games in 2028, after the 1932 and 1984, and it will also be the first time to host Paralympic Games.
