Kirinyaga Woman Rep Jane Njeri Maina has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over alleged plans to cause chaos tomorrow during the public participation on impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Njeri, an ally of Gachagua, received a directive last night via text to present herself today at the DCI offices in Kerugoya.
The message from Regional Criminal Investigation Officer Dr Abraham Mugambi read;
“Good evening Muheshimiwa, there are serious allegations against you that you are mobilising goons to cause chaos on Friday during public participation on DP impeachment motion. It is in this regard you are invited to appear at the CCIO Kirinyaga office tomorrow the 3/10/2024 at 1000hrs to send light on this allegation.”
The Woman rep however described the summons as witchhunt intended to intimidate her because of standing with the embattled DP.
Today morning she said; “They want to cause fear to residents of Kirinyaga County who are strong supporters of Gachagua not to attend public participation at Kirinyaga central Constituency Hall on Friday,”.

She vowed to continue urging people to come out in big numbers to oppose the move to oust Gachagua.
Public participation on the impeachment motion will be held tomorrow in all the 47 counties.
On October 8 Gachagua will appear before the National Assembly to respond to accusations levelled against him.
