Kenya Railways has raised the bar for luxury travel with the launch of its latest offering, the Madaraka Express Premium Class service, aimed at redefining the passenger experience.
Introduced in July 2024, this enhancement features a fleet of new passenger rolling stock that includes 1 dining car, 4 Premium Class coaches, 4 First Class coaches, 10 Economy Class coaches, and 1 power car.
The highlight of this upgrade is the exclusive Premium Class coaches, designed to accommodate just 28 passengers per coach. This limited capacity ensures ample legroom and personal space, promising unparalleled comfort throughout the journey.
The seats in Premium Class are ergonomically designed to recline fully into a bed-like position, catering to passengers seeking relaxation or productivity while on the move.
Additional storage options have been integrated to facilitate hassle-free baggage handling, while WiFi connectivity and entertainment systems ensure passengers remain connected and entertained throughout their trip.
Privacy and tranquility are paramount, with dedicated compartments reserved exclusively for Premium Class passengers. Here, a serene environment fosters relaxation or focused work, supported by attentive service personnel who provide personalized assistance.
In addition to onboard luxuries, Premium Class passengers are treated to VIP amenities such as access to exclusive lounges at terminals, ensuring a seamless transition from waiting to boarding.
Priority boarding and disembarkation further streamline the travel experience, reflecting Kenya Railways’ commitment to setting new benchmarks in rail travel.
Those who attended the launch include Transport CS Davis Chirchir, top government officials and the Kenya Railways staff.
