Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Mbeere North residents to elect UDA candidate Leo Wamuthende in Thursday’s by-election, saying he is the most suitable leader to safeguard ongoing government projects and champion key development priorities.
Kindiki said Wamuthende had shown a clear commitment to addressing the everyday needs of the constituency, particularly enhancing access to education, expanding infrastructure, and ensuring government projects are properly implemented.
“By electing Leo Wamuthende, the people of Mbeere North will have a focused leader who will push for increased access to education through bursaries, follow up on national government projects, and lobby for more development allocations,” the Deputy President said.
He highlighted major infrastructure interventions already underway in Embu County, including the upgrading of three key roads to bitumen standard.
Among them is the road linking Runyenjes and Mbeere North, where eight kilometres have already been completed and construction of an additional seven kilometres is ongoing.
During a people’s forum in Ngiiri, Muminji Ward, Wamuthende pledged to prioritise the upgrading of the 45-kilometre Siakago–Muminji–Kirie–Ishiara road, describing it as critical for economic growth, farm produce transportation, and market access for local traders.
The Deputy President said residents had shown confidence in the UDA candidate, adding that the momentum on the ground reflected growing support.
“Leo, watu wa Ngiiri wamekubali ni LEO!” Kindiki said, urging locals to turn out in large numbers and vote for him.
