Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday presided over a high-level Cabinet Committee meeting focused on streamlining the government’s legislative, policy, and programme proposals in the Finance, Infrastructure, Land, and Production Economy sectors.
Speaking from the Official Residence in Karen, the Deputy President emphasized the importance of Cabinet Committees in the governance structure, describing them as “critical engines” in refining cabinet agenda before full Cabinet deliberation.
“Cabinet Committees are critical to the processing of cabinet agenda elaborately fine-tuning and improving on legislative, policy and programme proposals before submission for consideration by full cabinet,” Kindiki said.

The meeting brought together top government officials including Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale (Health), Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture and Livestock Development), James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum), Deborah Barasa (Environment and Climate Change), Hassan Ali Joho (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs), and Alice Wahome (Lands, Housing and Urban Development).
Also present were Deputy Chief of Staff Josphat Nanok, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau.

The committee discussed key policy areas critical to Kenya’s economic transformation and sustainable development, including land reforms, housing, energy policy, climate change mitigation strategies, and the blue economy.
The Deputy President affirmed that the Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to structured and inclusive policy formulation through enhanced inter-ministerial collaboration.
