Kenyan World War II veterans were honoured today during a medal ceremony in Kisumu County, marking 80 years since the war.

The event was led by DEFOCA Managing Director Brigadier Joakim Mwamburi, who praised the veterans’ bravery and urged caretakers to preserve the medals as symbols of their sacrifice.

UK Defence Adviser Brigadier Olly Bryant also paid tribute, reaffirming the British Government’s commitment to supporting Kenyan veterans who served alongside British forces.

The ceremony was attended by retired KDF personnel and representatives from the Kisumu County government.
