Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale held high-level bilateral talks with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires H.E. Marc Dillard to enhance strategic health collaboration between Kenya and the United States.
The meeting focused on strengthening key areas such as health workforce development, digital health systems, non-communicable diseases, mental health, and the climate-health connection, all of which align with Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals.
CS Duale underscored the importance of continued partnership under the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), which bolsters disease surveillance, emergency response, and health system resilience. He also praised the impact of U.S.-backed programs like PEPFAR, USAID, and CDC in fighting HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in all joint health initiatives. In response, the U.S. signaled its readiness to align future support with Kenya’s national health priorities.
The meeting was attended by senior Ministry of Health officials, including Director General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, Director of Family Health Dr. Bashir Isaak, and Head of NASCOP Dr. Andrew Mulwa.
