Kenya has warmly welcomed the peace agreement between the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the M23 rebel group during negotiations hosted in Qatar.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, in a statement on X, noted that the commitment to an immediate cessation of hostilities marks a vital turning point for the conflict-weary nation.
“The commitment to an immediate cessation of hostilities marks a crucial step toward ending the conflict and offers much-needed relief to the innocent people of the DRC, who have borne the brunt of the violence,” noted Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
