Visoi Ward MCA, Madam Hellen Mengek, is facing intense criticism following her decision to dump construction sand at the busy Salgaa parking lot, which has led to significant disruptions for the local community.
The parking area, once a well-organized space, has now been transformed into a chaotic mess. Drivers and business owners have been left frustrated by blocked access, causing considerable inconvenience to their daily operations.
Local resident Edwin Cheruiyot expressed the widespread outrage, stating, “The MCA must take immediate corrective measures to restore trust and honor her commitments to Visoi Ward.” Photos and videos shared with Tukio.co.ke show the extent of the disruption, highlighting the negative impact on local businesses and residents.

Adding to the community’s frustration is the unmet promise made by the MCA’s personal assistant during a funeral in Burgei.
The assistant had vowed that a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution would be established in the area.
“We would like our MCA to fulfill her campaign promises, including the construction of the TVET college to enhance education in the area,” said one local resident.
The community argues that the recent actions of the MCA seem to contradict her earlier commitments, leading many to question her understanding of her responsibilities to the community.
