Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing Africa-China relations, emphasizing the need for people-centered and sustainable modernization as both regions continue their development journeys.
Speaking at the China-Africa Dialogue on the Path to Modernization forum on Wednesday, Dr. Korir Sing’oei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, stated that Kenya aims to leverage China’s development experience to further its own modernization agenda.
Dr. Sing’oei was joined by China’s Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Guo Haiyan, at the Hong Ting Forum hosted by Xinhua News, where the theme “China-Africa on the Path to Modernization” was discussed.
During the event, Sing’oei commended China for its remarkable achievement in lifting millions of people out of poverty over the past five decades through a human-centered approach to modernization.
The forum attracted tens of delegates, including government officials, scholars, and representatives from the Chinese business community, who gathered to discuss the growing China-Africa partnership and its implications for modernization and sustainable development.
Key topics of discussion included Kenya’s endorsement of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has played a significant role in transforming the country’s infrastructure.
In her remarks, Ambassador Guo reaffirmed China’s dedication to Africa’s development, stressing that the modernization process should be inclusive, people-centered, and beneficial to all sectors of society.
The ongoing dialogue aims to strengthen the partnership between Africa and China, ensuring that the modernization process benefits the people of both regions while promoting long-term sustainable growth.
