ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has underscored the government’s commitment to leveraging digital platforms to boost Business-to-Business (B2B) growth as the country gears up for the highly anticipated EU-Kenya Business Forum, scheduled for May 12 and 13 in Nairobi.
Speaking during a press briefing this morning, Kabogo emphasized that the forum presents a unique opportunity for Kenyan businesses to connect with European counterparts, identify new opportunities, and maximize the benefits of the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement, which came into effect in July last year.
“The upcoming EU-Kenya Business Forum will serve as a powerful platform for collaboration. Over 500 European businesses have already shown interest in participating, which is a clear indication of the growing confidence in Kenya as a key trade and innovation hub,” said Kabogo.

The Cabinet Secretary was joined by high-ranking diplomats, including European Union Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Henriette Geiger, French Ambassador H.E. Arnaud Suquet, Romania Ambassador H.E. Gentiana Serbu, Belgium Ambassador H.E. Peter Maddens, Netherlands Ambassador H.E. Henk Jan Bakker, and Germany’s Deputy Head of Mission Alexander Fierley, among others.
Kabogo also announced that Romania had offered eight scholarships in cybersecurity and other digital skills fields as part of ongoing efforts to support Kenya’s digital transformation agenda.

“We are not only expanding our digital infrastructure through the rollout of fibre networks and the establishment of digital hubs across the country, but we are also focused on skilling our citizens. Our goal is to empower them to fully tap into the emerging opportunities brought about by a digital economy,” Kabogo added.

The EU-Kenya Business Forum is expected to attract business leaders, innovators, investors, and policymakers, offering a space for strategic dialogue and partnerships between Kenya and the European Union.
