Cabinet Secretary For Interior Kipchumba Murkomen

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has emphasized Kenya’s strong bilateral relations with the Republic of the Congo, highlighting shared Pan-African values and cooperation in sustainable management of aquatic resources.

Murkomen said the two countries share deep ties rooted in Pan-African solidarity, sovereign equality, and a commitment to Africa-led solutions to continental challenges, noting that both are maritime and riverine nations with strategic ecological assets.

He made the remarks while representing President William Ruto at the inauguration ceremony of President Denis Sassou-Nguesso in Brazzaville, where he also extended congratulations on his renewed mandate.

“As maritime and riverine nations with strategic ecological assets, we share a common responsibility to protect and sustainably harness our aquatic ecosystems for the benefit of our people,” he said.

Murkomen was accompanied by Members of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor (Lang’ata), Mohamed Abdirahman (Lafey), Bernard Kitur (Nandi Hills), Irene Njoki (Bahati), Linet Chepkorir (Bomet County), and John Bwire (Taveta), as well as Kenya’s Ambassador to the DRC, Eng. Peter Tum, who is also accredited to Congo-Brazzaville, Central African Republic, and Gabon.
