The 2025 BET Awards are set to take place on June 9 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, marking 25 years of honouring outstanding achievements in music, film, television, and sports. This year’s ceremony is expected to be a major celebration of Black creativity, culture, and excellence.

Kendrick Lamar tops the list of nominees with a remarkable ten nominations. His work has been recognised across multiple categories, including Album of the Year for GNX and Video of the Year for “Not Like Us.” He’s also received several nods in the Viewer’s Choice and Best Collaboration categories for his work alongside SZA, Metro Boomin, and Future. Lamar is also up for Video Director of the Year (with Dave Free) and Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

Not far behind are Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla, each earning six nominations. Metro Boomin follows with five, while both SZA and The Weeknd received four nominations each. Other notable artists with multiple nominations include Arya Starr, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Maverick City Music, Playboi Carti, Teddy Swims, and Tyler, The Creator, all receiving three nods.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by comedian and actor Kevin Hart, bringing his signature energy and humour to the iconic event. With the BET Awards hitting the 25-year milestone, the show is expected to be a vibrant celebration of the past, present, and future of Black entertainment.

Fans and industry watchers alike eagerly await a night filled with music, memorable performances, and well-deserved honours, as BET continues its mission of recognising and uplifting Black excellence.
