Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel serving under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) marked Eid al-Adha on June 6, 2025, with celebrations held at the New Airport Main Operating Base.

Col. Gideon Bebora, representing Sector II Commander Brig. Edward Banda, led the event and thanked the KDF Muslim fraternity and Jubaland Security officials for their participation. He encouraged obedience and vigilance, drawing inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s story.

Lt. Col. Galgalo Liban called for unity among troops and stronger collaboration with partner nations. In Dhobley, Col. Maurice Wasomi and Lt. Col. Samson Kenga led similar commemorations, urging soldiers to uphold family bonds and stay security-conscious during festivities.

Eid al-Adha, the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of Islam’s most important holidays, symbolizing faith, devotion, and compassion.
