Over 100 golfers from various clubs across the country participated in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) golf tournament to celebrate the 61st Mashujaa Day.
Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri was among the 112 golfers who competed in different categories at Sea Link Par 71 Mombasa Golf Course.
The tournament brought together Officers and Service Personnel from the Army, Airforce and Navy, seasoned professionals, enthusiastic amateurs, and civilian participants, celebrating sporting excellence and camaraderie.
Top performers were recognised and awarded prizes for their achievements.
Major General Eric Kinuthia, Chairman of the KDF Golf Association, commended the participants for their dedication to the sport.
He emphasized KDF’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship and building esprit de corps among its personnel and the civilian population.
Brigadier Timothy Lekolool, Patron of the KDF Golf Association, highlighted the parallels between golf and military service, noting that both require discipline, precision, and teamwork.
Winners in various categories were awarded.
