The construction of the Karatina School of Health Sciences is progressing at a steady pace, with major structural works nearing completion, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has said.

Dr. Omollo stated that the project, which is being implemented in partnership with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), had made significant progress, with the six-storey superstructure already taking shape.

He noted that reinforced concrete columns and beams had been firmly installed, while slab casting across several levels was approaching completion.

“The project remains a strategic investment in both health infrastructure and human capital, reinforcing our commitment to accessible, affordable and high-quality healthcare for all Kenyans,”he said.

The Principal Secretary added that once completed, the institution would serve as a modern training hub aimed at increasing the number of skilled health professionals in the country.

He further explained that the facility was expected to play a critical role in enhancing service delivery under Universal Health Coverage (UHC), by providing learners with a conducive environment for practical and patient-centered training.

Dr. Omollo also described the project as a strategic investment in both health infrastructure and human capital, noting that it underscored the government’s commitment to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare to all Kenyans.

He added that the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration was supporting the project through coordination, site security, and administrative facilitation to ensure smooth implementation.
