The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) has announced its plans to change its party name to Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF), per a gazette notice issued by the Registrar of Political Parties.
The notice was published on June 18, 2025, and it invites members of the public to submit written feedback on the proposed name change within seven days of the announcement.
The move is made under Section 20 (1)(d) of the Political Parties Act, which allows registered parties to amend their names upon notification to the Registrar.
Inquiries and submissions can be done at the Registrar’s office, which is located at Lion Place along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi, only during regular working hours.
When the change is approved, it will mark a new chapter for one of Kenya’s long-standing political parties.
