Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has assured that no deserving student will be denied access to university education due to lack of fees.
He emphasized that the government will step in to cover any financial gaps, reaffirming the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and ensuring the financial sustainability of public universities.
Ogamba highlighted that the number of insolvent universities has decreased from 23 to 14, with full financial recovery expected within the next two to three years.

He attributed this progress to key reforms, including the student-centered funding model and fee reductions of up to 40%, which have significantly eased the financial burden on families.
