Jean Ojiro has been crowned Miss Universe Kenya 2026 after emerging victorious during the pageant’s grand finale held at Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi.

Ojiro beat finalists Mokera Onchiri, Mercy Awonda and Immaculate Wachera to claim the coveted title after a competition that began with more than 500 hopefuls.

The contestants were gradually narrowed down through several stages, including a boot camp that tested their communication, leadership, advocacy and presentation skills, before the final gala.

The emotional winner could not hold back her tears when her name was announced, as confetti and fireworks filled the venue to celebrate her victory.

As part of her prize, Ojiro received a Nissan Note and earned the honour of representing Kenya at the upcoming Miss Universe competition, where contestants from over 100 countries and territories will compete.

Taking to Instagram after her victory, the beauty queen admitted she was overwhelmed by the moment.

“We did it! We brought it home… This is what happens when a crier wins. I was in shambles!” she wrote.

Ojiro also thanked Kenyans for their unwavering support, promising to make the country proud as she prepares to represent Kenya on the global Miss Universe stage.

She is set to represent Kenya at Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico.
