Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Dennis Itumbi has denied speculation of a rift between President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Rumors surfaced following Kindiki’s absence from President Ruto’s New Year’s Eve address and dinner at the Kisii State Lodge on December 31, 2024. The absence fueled public curiosity about the Deputy President’s whereabouts.
Addressing the speculation on X (formerly Twitter), Itumbi categorically dismissed the claims, labeling them as baseless.
Kindiki, who has kept a low profile since December 20, 2024, last appeared in public during a thanksgiving ceremony and classroom opening at Arap Moi Primary School in Tana River County. Despite his reduced public engagements, he shared his New Year’s message with Kenyans online, extending blessings and goodwill.
“Happy, blessed, and joyous 2025. God bless your families, and God bless Kenya,” Kindiki wrote on X.
In a follow-up post, the Deputy President called on Kenyans to renew their focus on national unity and development.
“Now is the time for each citizen to freshen the resolve to work harder towards a better future and a more cohesive nation,” he urged.
